چکیده

This study aimed to describe the morphometric relationship of root canal orifices on pulp floor in presence/absence mesiobuccal second (MB2) maxillary first molars and other aspects its internal anatomy. Sixty-two were scanned by micro-CT. The presence MB2 was verified. distance between center points MB1, MB2, distobuccal (DB), palatal (P) measured (MB1-MB2, MB1-DB, MB2-DB, MB1-P, DB-P). MB1-P DB-P ratio calculated. distances anatomic apex MB1 apical foramina measured. length band-shaped isthmus also Student's t-test applied verify association an canal, interorifice distances, (? = 5%). present 43 roots (69.35%). Statistics showed significant differences when for largest (p < 0.05) higher values 0.05). A detected 25.8% MB roots. mean from foramen ranged 1.74 canals 1.42 canals. Root canal morphology of the mesiobuccal root of maxillary first molars: a micro-computed tomographic analysis.

AIM To investigate ex vivo, the root canal morphology of the MB root of maxillary first molar teeth by means of micro-computed tomography. METHODOLOGY Thirty extracted intact human maxillary first molar teeth were selected for micro-tomographic analysis (SkyScan 1072, Aartselaar, Belgium) with a slice thickness of 38.0 mum. The following data regarding the MB root were analysed and recorded: ...

A Micro CT study of the mesiobuccal root canal morphology of the maxillary first molar tooth.

AIM To observe the morphology of the root canal system of the maxillary first molar mesiobuccal root using micro computed tomography and compare it to current canal classifications. METHODOLOGY Twenty mesiobuccal roots were resected from randomly selected extracted human maxillary first molar teeth and prepared for scanning using a SkyScan micro CT scanner (SkyScan 1172 X-ray microtomograph, ...

Three-dimensional analysis of mesiobuccal root canal of Japanese maxillary first molar using Micro-CT.

The objective of this study was to three-dimensionally observe the morphological characteristics of mesiobuccal root canals of Japanese maxillary first molars using microcomputed tomography (Micro-CT) and classify root canal variations. This study used 90 maxillary first molars. Three-dimensional reconstruction was performed using data obtained by Micro-CT, and cross-sections of the root canals...

Location of canal isthmus and accessory canals in the mesiobuccal root of maxillary first permanent molars.

BACKGROUND Failure in surgical endodontics may be caused by many factors. Failure is commonly due to improper preparation for the root-end filling and a lack of seal of the resected root end. The aim of this study was to investigate the morphology of resected mesiobuccal (MB) root ends of maxillary first molars and to evaluate the location of the canal isthmus and accessory canals between the M...

An In Vitro Study of Mesiobuccal Root Thickness of Maxillary First Molars

INTRODUCTION Understanding the internal anatomy of root canal system can significantly influence outcomes of root canal treatment. The aim of this in vitro study was to measure the thickness of mesiobuccal root at different levels in maxillary first molars. MATERIALS AND METHODS In this cross-sectional study, forty extracted human maxillary first molars were radiographed; accordingly, the mes...
